Krorëza Bay


Krorëza is considered one of the most fascinating beaches in Albania, which can only be explored by boat. Krorëza Bay is located between the coasts of Himara and Saranda. The natural beauty, the virgin nature, the tranquility of the area, and the crystal sea water, made it one of the most beautiful destinations in the country.

Arrival to this bay is possible either by sailing or by hiking through the footpaths.

Ksamil Islands


The Islands of Ksamil, or the Tetranisi Islands, are four small islands located in the southern district of Saranda, Albania. Twin island, Sorkadhja, Miu and Miss islands are their names. The islands are remote and can only be reached by swim, pedalo or by boat.

The village of Ksamil, after which the islands are named, is situated to the east of the islands. Activities like sailing, snorkeling and walkingthrough islands are most desired experiences. Personalized experiences are a great option, a service offered by professional local guides.

Tongo Islands


Tongo Island is an uninhabited island located in the southwest of the Republic of Albania. It is situated in the Ionian Sea, off the coast of the city of Saranda. The island has a very small surface area.

Tongo Island is located at the southernmost tip of Albania, near Cape Stillo, where the final border with Greece is also located. Access to Tongo Island can be made by boat or inflatable dinghy.

On the island, there also lives Babalja, the real-life Robinson Crusoe, who takes care of the fishing nets.

Itinerary

We met our guide at Lake Port in Ksamil and climbed aboard his pride and joy, a traditional style mussel boat which took us across Lake Butrint. He explained in perfect English how the mussels are grown and harvested. The location is very beautiful as the lake is protected and birds and fish are plentiful. Indeed, the only human presence is local fisherman using handlines with mussel shacks dotting the shoreline. We took turns to clean the mussels and learned about removing the ‘beard’ from each shell. Shortly we arrived on the far shore and were greeted with a warm welcome from locals who had set a table in the shade. Wafting delicious smells were in the air. Wine and cold water was served and a fine feast of mussels was presented. A plate of grapes and more wine followed. Our only company, a dog and a cat who slept at a polite distance. There was adequate washing and toilet facilities. It was a perfect afternoon with the sun setting on our return, offering us a glorious sunset for dessert. We went with another couple and all agreed it was very good value for money and something very different and quite unique. Certainly not hackneyed tourism. I thoroughly recommend this tour, educational and gastronomic. You almost feel you are experiencing what the ancients enjoyed. You can’t put a price on pure, delicious simplicity.

Itinerary

Ksamil to the land of tangerines.

Meeting with the farmers, they will gave us se basic information how to gather tangerines, one hour work, fun and learning will be.

We will enjoy a delicious traditional lunch, whilst enjoying a perfect view to the plantation and beyond.

During the lunch, we'll learn more about tangerines, the season, soil, geographic position, climate and perhaps some old stories.
